Medical Policy Rationale Statement: Medical policies are developed through consideration of medical necessity, generally accepted standards of medical practice, a review of medical literature and government approval status. Benefit determinations should be based in all cases on the applicable contract language. To the extent there are any conflicts between these guidelines and the contract language, the contract language will control. The purpose of medical policy is to provide a guide to coverage. Medical policies are not intended to dictate to practitioners how to practice medicine. Practitioners are expected to exercise their medical judgment in providing the most appropriate care.

Result from serialisation and pedigree tracking in the supply chain. Tracking between supply chain participants is the key aspect of a pedigree. Partner collaboration in the pilots provides an opportunity to understand how serialisation and pedigrees impact the shipping and receiving processes for both forward and reverse logistics. Partners should identify interoperability issues during pilots and focus on resolving them. Companies serialising drugs using RFID tags to gain efficiencies in supply chain processes are encouraged to participate in the industry associations setting RFID standards for pharmaceuticals. Some companies may use RFID tags on cases and pallets and initially use bar codes at the package level. The FDA wants industry to provide feedback from this year's pilots. By 2006, the FDA expects the drugs vulnerable to counterfeiting to be serialised and tracked with electronic pedigrees. The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy NABP ; has published a list of the most vulnerable drugs. According to the FDA's schedule, mass serialisation and electronic pedigrees will occur for all drugs by 2007. Significant quantities, coupled with the correlation in humans between delayed healing and testosterone levels, the effects we observed after castration were modulated by gonadal androgens. To determine the mechanisms underlying the effects of castration, we used AR blockade with oral administration of flutamjde prior to and during the wound healing process. Our results suggest that fflutamide treatment results in accelerated healing and dampened inflammation, mimicking the effects of castration Figure 6, a and b ; , and was associated with reduced tissue expression of TNF- Figure 6c ; . Recent reports suggest that both gonadal androgens and adrenal sex steroid precursors in primates may act not only through the AR but also via the estrogen receptor. Our findings are in keeping with gonadal androgens acting specifically through the AR to reduce local tissue inflammation and modulate wound repair. Since TNF- activates NF-B, which in turn induces gene expression of a plethora of proinflammatory cytokines, including TNF- itself, we investigated the activity of NF-B in wound tissue nuclear extracts from control and flutamide-treated male mice. EMSA showed NF-B activity to be strongly increased in day 3 wound tissue compared with normal skin; activation was suppressed by fflutamide treatment Figure 6c. Financial Exploitation by Money Managers by MWVSSA Protective Services Workers This article addresses financial exploitation by money managers of residents. The Polk County Adult Protection Multi-Disciplinary Team MDT ; , comprised of Adult Protective Services staff from Senior Services, Disability Services, Mental Health, law enforcement officials and the District Attorney's office, has worked on a number of these cases. The MDT has the following suggestions to help facilities prevent exploitation, and facilitate resolution and prosecution if necessary: On Admission 1. Have a clear understanding of whom the responsible party is and under what authority. Relevant documents for powers of attorney, conservatorship or trust should be obtained and placed in the residents' file. 2. Clarify when there is a joint signor on a resident's account and whether the assets in the account are to be used for the benefit of the resident only - or for others as well. Medicaid residents' funds cannot be used for others and are to benefit the Medicaid recipient only. ; 3. A current bank statement, kept on file, has proven to be invaluable for prosecution efforts. If there are problems with bill payment or funds available to the resident. 1. If there is a problem with the resident's Personal Incidental Fund PIF ; , contact the case manager at Senior Services. 2. If the residents' bills are not paid on time, call and send a certified letter to the responsible party, and document your efforts. 3. If the bill is late more than once, let the case manager know, and or consider applying to be Representative Payee through Social Security, if Social Security is the sole income. 4. If the bill for room, board, care and services has not been paid and is 30 days overdue, and there is no response to either telephone calls or a certified letter, contact a Licensor for problem solving. By working together we can prevent more of these problems, remedy situations where residents need quick assistance, and successfully prosecute crimes when they occur.
